Wapusk Adventures is an Indigenous owned and operated tour company located in Churchill, Manitoba. Our Wapusk Team has a common interest in the outdoors and of course our love for dogs! Join us on an exciting tour as we share stories, culture, and why we call Churchill home.

We provide year-round dog sledding tours that include educational talks about Dog Sledding, Métis Culture, and life in Churchill followed by an exhilarating dog sled ride through the boreal forest!

Churchill Manitoba is also one of the best places in the world to see the Aurora Borealis and we provide the perfect location to view and photograph this natural phenomenon.

During the summer months join a guided bike tour around the town of Churchill. Learn about local historical sights and murals followed by a relaxing ride to Cape Merry. We also offer a longer tour down the Hudson Bay coast road for the more adventurous traveller.

Sub-Arctic Tours

Welcome to Sub-Arctic Tours – Manitoba’s only Inuit owned tour guide service and Indigenous operated!

At Sub-Arctic Tours, we believe that the best way to truly understand a place is by exploring it with someone who calls it home. Our Indigenous team of passionate and knowledgeable guides have an intimate understanding of Churchills’ diverse landscape. We offer area tours and wildlife observations via vehicle throughout the Polar Bear Capital of The World – Churchill, Manitoba, Canada.

Where: We are pleased to offer the convenience of pick-up services. Just tell us where you are staying in Churchill.

When: Tour duration: 6 hours, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. There’s a one-hour lunch break, and meals are not provided. The tour resumes from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

What does a typical tour look like?

1st Stop – Cape Merry, the Parks Canada Historical site, overlooks the mouth of the Churchill River joining into the Hudson Bay, a good vantage point to spot any bears and whales.

2nd Stop – Inukshuk behind the complex. Carrying on down the back coastal road and a few side trails to check out for wildlife.

3rd Stop – Miss Piggy, the plane wreck.

4th Stop – Polar Bear Holding facility.

We head back to town for lunch at 12:00 (meals not included)

5th Stop – Polar Bear Alley.

6th Stop – “Golf balls” area.

7th Stop – Birds Cove in the Churchill Wildlife management area.

8th Stop – Churchill Northern Study Centre.

*Photo Ops at each location and of course for any wildlife we encounter.

Finally, we backtrack our way back to town.
